CHARLOTTE, MI–Spartan Emergency Response (“Spartan” or “Spartan ER”), a business unit of Spartan Motors, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPAR) (“Spartan” or the “Company”), has expanded its partnership with the Wayne Township Fire Department in Marion County, Indiana, with an order for three Spartan Star Series top-mount pumpers and for its new Ladder Tower 93-foot midmount platform which launched at the recent FDIC International 2019.

The Wayne Township Fire Department, which serves 36 square miles of the Indianapolis metropolitan area, currently operates a Smeal Sirius 75-foot aerial that has been in service since 2016. Additionally, the department currently has two Smeal Sirius top-mount pumpers on order, both of which will be in service by the third quarter of this year. The Wayne Township Fire Department has five fire stations, employs approximately 180 first responders, and is expanding its partnership with Spartan to help standardize its frontline fleet of fire apparatus, with the overriding benefit of providing safe and reliable equipment for its firefighters, as they serve the citizens and property owners of Wayne Township.

“Wayne Township Fire Department has seen first-hand the reliability and performance that a Spartan apparatus brings to mission-critical operations,” said Todd Fierro, President of Spartan Emergency Response. “We are proud to have been selected to provide the safest fire trucks in the industry to Wayne Township, and look forward to further expanding our relationship in the future.”

Unveiled at FDIC International 2019, Spartan’s latest Ladder Tower 93-foot midmount platform boasts a compact package with proven performance and long-term reliability for which the company is known.
