A homeless encampment fire broke out under the freeway overcrossing. Heavy flames were coming out from one of the tunnels when firefighters arrived.
The tunnels are part of the storm channel system and is full of trash, debris, and human waste.
The firefighters were able to put the fire out, but one homeless male told the firefighters that his girlfriend was still inside.
Two firefighters had to crawl inside and search for the supposed victim. No one was found inside and the firefighters had to be decontaminated once they exited the tunnel.
