San Francisco (CA) Woman Sues Fire Department for Involuntary Sedation at NBA Protest

Kareim McKnight is suing the San Francisco Fire Department saying a firefighter injected her with a sedative without her consent.

The injection happened while McKnight was protesting at a Warriors game in June against the overturning of the Roe v. Wade abortion case that allowed states to ban abortion.

The lawsuit against San Francisco, and its police and fire departments, demands damages for being assaulted and given the drug Versed – which is used to calm people.

McKnight says she was a danger to neither herself nor others when she engaged in the peaceful protest, and she and her lawyer want to see the city’s policies for administering sedatives against someone’s will..
