San Diego (CA) Firefighters Rescue Couple from River After They Tried to Save Their Dog

A California couple wound up needing rescuers themselves after they were swept into the San Diego River Tuesday while attempting to save their dog, which had also fallen into the river.

San Diego firefighters sent a rescue swimmer into the river to bring the couple to safety. CBS 8 reports. The river was swollen from its normal footprint due to heavy rains that hit the city Tuesday.
