Richmond (VA) Station 12 Falls Silent After 114 Years of Calls; Replaced by Modern Facility

Since 1908, firefighters have responded to calls from Richmond’s Station 12 at 2223 West Cary Street.

It’s Richmond’s oldest active fire station and one of the earliest on the East Coast.

Now the city is planning to replace the facility, which started life as a station for horse-drawn fire apparatus.
