Patient charged with aggravated assault

HOUSTON, Texas – KTRK is reporting that a Houston man is being charged with threatening firefighters with a rifle after they treated him for a drug overdose.
Firefighters responded to a home northeast Houston at approximately midnight on Tuesday.
A fire department official said firefighters used Narcan to treat the man for an overdose.
When the man came to he reportedly became agitated and threatened the firefighters with a rifle. There were no details provided on how the man specifically had retrieved the firearm.
The man demanded that firefighters leave the house.
Outside the house, firefighters called the police and warned others not to approach the residence.
Houston police surrounded the house and the man surrendered peacefully.
