Retired Firefighter Saves Couple From Weston (MA) House Fire

A retired firefighter roused a sleeping couple in their home on South Avenue in Weston Tuesday morning, alerting them to a fire that was building in their home.

The fire destroyed the house before firefighters could arrive. But the retired firefighter was out walking and noticed the smoke, giving the home’s occupants time to escape.

The fire apparently started on a deck in the rear of the home and spread to the house itself. Recently completed construction at the home may have played a role in the fire.
