Fort Worth firefighters rescue five people

FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth firefighters rescued five homeless people from the second floor of a burning abandoned church on Wednesday morning.

CBS DFW reports that firefighters responded to the fire on Fogg Street at approximately 3:00 a.m.

Five people were rescued from the second floor and treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

Officials told CBS DFW that none of the five were transported to the hospital.

Investigators say that the fire was started for warmth and had gotten out of control trapping them inside.
