Philadelphia Medics Attacked While Treating Patient

A man is in custody after throwing bricks at ambulance

PHILADELPHIA — WPVI reports that one person is in custody after damaging a Philadelphia Fire Department ambulance early Sunday morning.

Medics were in the 1200 block of West Somerset Street treating a patient when a man approached and began to throw bricks at the ambulance.

The man also jumped on the hood causing extensive damage.

The medics called for the police, but the man fled the scene before the police arrived.

The ambulance was placed out of service and the incident is under investigation.
