The BioUrja corn processing plant in Peoria was burning again Friday afternoon, returning firefighters to the scene.
The fire started with an explosion around 9 p.m. Wednesday that destroyed two grain silos at the facility and partially collapsed several others.
With the Occupational Safety and Health Administration on scene, the fire department left Thursday afternoon. But smoke and a fire alarm brought firefighters back to the scene Friday, WMBD reports.
Grain dust associated with the plant poses continued explosion risk as long as the stubborn fire continues smoldering.
