Pennsylvania Firefighters Struck by Car

LOWER MOUNT BETHEL TOWNSHIP, Pennsylvania — Two firefighters were injured after being struck by a car on Saturday while directing traffic.

LehighValleyLive.com reports that the two Lower Mount Bethel Sandt’s Eddy Fire Company firefighters were directing traffic at a church festival.

The firefighters were directing cars where to park when they were struck, according to Fire Chief Jeff Larrison, Jr.

Chief Larrison told LehighValleyLive that an elderly driver accidentally stepped on the gas instead of the brake.

Both firefighters were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the accident.
