Pennsylvania Firefighter Dies after House Fire

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pennsylvania — Penn Live and The News-Item report that a Pennsylvania firefighter died suddenly after responding to a house fire on Thursday afternoon.

East End Fire Company Captain Scott Dannheimer was found unresponsive in the cab of a fire truck after a fire on North First Street in Coal Township.

Dannheimer, 53, of Shamokin, was transported to the Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday morning.
