One Dead, One Critically Injured in Crash with Indiana Fire Truck

FORT WAYNE, Indiana — WANE is reporting that one person was killed and another left suffering life-threatening injuries after a vehicle crashed into a fire truck Saturday morning.

Police state that at 8:10 a.m., a Fort Wayne Fire Department fire truck was driving northbound on Clinton Street, responding to a call, when it noticed an oncoming vehicle driving southbound at a high speed.

The vehicle hit a curb, spun out and struck the fire truck.

The vehicle’s passenger was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver was transported to a local hospital.

No firefighters were injured.
