The Oklahoma City Fire Department Thursday terminated a firefighter for declining to take a COVID-19 test in compliance with department policy.
Fire Department Corporal Jerimiah Hoffstatter, a nine-year veteran of the department, traveled to Louisiana as part of the Urban Search and Rescue Team in response to Hurricane Ida. The department required that he submit to a COVID-19 test upon returning, FOX 25 reported.
The department said Hoffstatter refused to be tested; he also refused a settlement offer to take time off. That resulted in his termination for insubordination. For more information visit Fox 25.
