Fire truck overturns while responding to a call

UNION HOPE, North Carolina — Two firefighter were injured Sunday when the fire truck they were in overturned while responding to a call.

WNCN reports that firefighters from the Ferrell Volunteer Fire Department were responding to an electrical investigation at 10:18 a.m.

The driver of the fire truck went off the road, over corrected, and then ran off the other side of the road.

The apparatus hit a ditch and overturned along N.C. 97 near Old Nash Road.

Both firefighters were transported to a hospital, treated and released.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
