SPRING LAKE, North Carolina — A Spring Lake firefighter was killed in a vehicle collision while traveling home, according to WTVD.

Spring Lake Fire Rescue Firefighter Corbin Rodgers, 20, died from his injuries in the Friday evening crash.

Officials say Firefighter Corbin had left ladder training class when his vehicle crossed the center line on Vass Road and collided head-on with another vehicle.

Rodgers had been with the fire department for five months.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol said it was raining at the time of the collision.  No other details were released.
