New York Firefighter Dies During Training

Homer firefighter stricken while training on Saturday

HOMER, New York — A New York fire department is mourning the loss of one if its firefighters after training on Saturday.

Ithaca Journal reports that Homer Firefighter Robert Bush died after falling ill during fire department training on Saturday.

Medical assistance was immediately given to Bush and continued after he was transported to a local hospital. Bush was pronounced dead at the hospital.

In a Facebook post Homer Fire Chief announced the loss and thanked those who have expressed sympathies and offers of assistance.
