New York Fire Chief Dies After House Fire

POTSDAM, New York — A New York fire chief died after collapsing at the scene of a house fire Thursday night according to WWNY.

West Stockholm Fire Chief Robert White responded to the fire on Route 11 B near his home.

Potsdam Fire Chief Tim Jerome told WWNY that the rear of the structure was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

No comment was provided on Chief White’s death.

White was pronounced dead at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.

No one was injured in the house fire.

New York State Fire Investigators and a county fire investigation team are looking for the cause of the fire.
