Five new fire engines for Nashville

Toyne Fire Trucks – The Nashville Fire Department responds to more than 100,000 emergency calls per year. Due to the Nashville, TN, population, and number of emergencies, Nashville is in the ‘top 20’ fire departments in the United States. Because of this large responsibility, the department has entrusted Toyne Fire Apparatus to engineer an additional 5 pumpers for their expanding fleet, bringing the department to 28 Toyne trucks.
Nashville’s Toyne Pumpers have been built on a Spartan Metro Star MFD 10 inch raised roof cab and chassis. Each apparatus is powered by a Cummins ISL 450 hp engine and driven by an Allison 3000 EVS transmission. Maximizing equipment storage space and fire-fighting power, Nashville’s Toyne Tailored Apparatus is equipped with a Hale Qmax-XS 1500 GPM pump and UPF 750-gallon tank. Also included is an Elkhart 240-125P Class A foam system and Whelen LED telescoping lights.
