The Jeffersontown Fire Department has closed its Station 3 on Biggin Hill Lane after firefighters reported illnesses.
An environmental services company inspected the station and found mold in multiple rooms, including bedrooms where firefighters sleep, WHAS reports.
The department sealed off the mold while remediation began, but firefighters began feeling ill. The department moved the firefighters to two other stations as work continues.
