Minneapolis (MN) Firefighters Protect Woman from Attack, Tackle Assailant

A 52-year-old Minnesota man faces charges of fourth degree assault and threats of violence after a group of firefighters stepped in to protect a woman that the man was chasing.

The incident took place at Minneapolis Fire Station 8 on Thursday night. That’s when a woman entered the station asking for help. She said a man in a pickup truck was following her.

Soon the man arrived, driving at firefighters and threatening them. Firefighters first told the man to leave, but he crashed his truck into a fire station door attempting to run a firefighter down. Firefighters used an axe to disable the vehicle.

When the man’s violent behavior escalated, firefighters tackled the man and held him until police arrived and arrested him.
