LUVERNE, MN–Midwest Fire successfully hosted its third annual Manufacturing Day (MFG). More than 100 visitors from the area toured the facility, including a group of visitors from the Veterans Home and students from Beaver Creek Hills and Luverne High School. Each year Midwest Fire attendance at the annual event has increased, with this year being its highest attended MFG Day.
Visitors who attended Midwest Fire’s manufacturing day were given a tour of the entire facility which highlighted areas including meeting with the sales team, project management team, and production floor team members. The visitors witnessed how the fire apparatus are manufactured at Midwest Fire, as it is a factory-direct manufacturer.
Midwest Fire’s primary focus for this event was to educate the local community about manufacturing careers. “Manufacturing Day is a great way to get the community involved in what we do and showcase the manufacturing we do inside the facility,” says CEO of Midwest Fire Sarah Atchison. “We hope by educating the community on what we do, it will spark an interest in the manufacturing industry and potentially lead people to pursue a career in the field.”
MFG Day is held each year on the first Friday in October. Manufacturing Day assists in spotlighting the logistics of modern manufacturing careers by inviting numerous companies and educational institutions to invite students, parents, teachers and community leaders to see what it’s all about.
