CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts – CBS Boston reports that three firefighters were hurt and a woman was rushed to the hospital in cardiac arrest during a fire in Cambridge on Wednesday morning.

Cambridge Fire Chief Gerry Mahoney said firefighters made a “heroic effort” to search for a woman inside.

“We have also had three firefighters transported to area hospitals due to an assortment of injuries,” Chief Mahoney told CBS Boston.

A section of ceiling collapsed onto one firefighter, another had a leg injury and a third had a shoulder injury.

Mahoney said firefighters had a hard time getting to the house because the yard was overgrown and there was a car in the driveway.
