A Mapleton firefighter was killed Tuesday when he was struck by a motor vehicle while working at the scene of a car accident.
Firefighters responded to a crash Hares Valley Road and Dell Lan at about 7:30 a.m., according to police. AA 19-year-old driver lost control of their vehicle and drove through the accident scene.
That vehicle hit and killed Firefighter Kurt Keilhofer, 66.
