Man Charged in Assault of MD Firefighter

Jul. 22—CUMBERLAND — A city man was arrested Saturday before dawn when he allegedly assaulted a Cumberland firefighter and two city police officers during a call at an Independence Street residence, according to Cumberland Police.

Nicholi Alexander Sneden was arrested on three counts of second-degree assault after he allegedly assaulted the first responders who were dispatched to an emergency call at the complaint location.

Sneden, 21, was taken from the scene to UPMC Western Maryland for treatment before he was processed for arrest and jailed on $5,000 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center at the order of a district court commissioner.

There was no report of injuries to the involved first responders.

Sneden was scheduled for bail review Monday by a district court judge.
