Man Attacks St. Louis Firefighters

Car fire victim thought firefighters were slow

NORTH ST. LOUIS, Missouri — A man whose car was burning attacked two St. Louis firefighters because he thought they were taking too long to extinguish the fire.

KMOV presented bystander video of the attack during the fire at the intersection of Shreve and Natural Bridge Friday evening.

Firefighters were working to extinguish the fire when the man started punching one of them.

Video shows a firefighter holding the man down before letting him go.  The man then lunged at the firefighter.

The two firefighters assaulted refused treatment.

The man who attacked the firefighters was taken into custody.
