MA Woman Survives Being Run Over by Subway Train; Wants to Thank Firefighters Who Saved Her

A woman fell under an MBTA Green Line train Friday night in Boston.

The accident happened at the Boston University Central Station at about 11:40 p.m. Ava Harlow, 20, got off the train. When knocking on the window to alert friends to get off, too, she slipped under the train.

She suffered serious injuries, including losing a leg. But Boston firefighters were able to extricate her and transport to the hospital, where she is recovering.

Now, Ava says, she wants to meet the crew that rescued her to say thank you.

Coincidentally, firefighters were also called to extricate someone from under a Red Line train on Tuesday at the Park Station.

That person suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
