
Two killed and another firefighter injured while at an MVA

LUBBOCK, Texas — A firefighter and police officer were killed while at the scene of a crash Saturday morning as reported by everythingLubbock.com .
A second firefighter was critically injured.
At a press conference Police Chief Floyd Mitchell and Fire Chief Shaun Fogerson said that firefighters and police officers were dispatched to a single vehicle accident in the area of Interstate 27 and Drew Street.
While working at the scene of this accident a second vehicle, towing a trailer, crossed into the median and crashed near the first accident
As firefighters and police officers worked the scene of both accidents a third vehicle crossed the median and struck two firefighters and a police officer.
Firefighters immediately requested additional resources.
The police officer, a 27-year old male, with just over a year of service with the department was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two firefighters were transported to UMC Hospital.
One firefighter, a 39-year old male, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The other firefighter, a 30-year old male, is listed in critical condition.
