Los Angeles Art District Fire

firelensman – December 28th, 2018 Los Angeles Firefighters responded to a smokey “greater alarm” blaze at “Urth Caffe,” a popular Coffee House & Eatery in the L.A. Art’s District, Downtown Los Angeles. The fire at 451 South Hewitt Street involved the wall and attic space above the kitchen area. LAFD Firefighters had fire showing from the holes they cut. Firefighters ventilated the roof to release hot gases and get to the seat of the fire. 

Several handlines had the fire under control in an hours time. There were no reported injuries, damage was extensive. The cause of the intense early morning fire is under investigation. – MNR –
