Looters Shoot at Houston Police Officers, Firefighters

HOUSTON (Houston Chronicle) – Looters at businesses near Tidwell and Mesa shot at Houston police officers and firefighters who responded to the scene, a police union official said.

Joe Gamaldi, vice president with the Houston Police Officers Union, said police had to divert from making high-water rescues to respond to the incident.

Gamaldi dubbed the shooting “#disgusting” on a tweet, noting that the looters were “advertising the shooting while we are saving people.”

Additional details were not immediately available.
