LAFD Battalion Chief Killed in Crash

LOS ANGELES (KABC) – A firefighter with the Los Angeles Fire Department died in a car crash while on-duty Friday morning, according to officials.

Los Angeles police said the crash happened on Los Angeles Street north of 17th Street at about 11 a.m. According to the fire department, 55-year-old Jerome Boyd, a 30-year veteran of the department and a battalion chief, suffered a medical emergency while driving and crashed.
