Kansas Fire Department Mourns Loss of Paramedic to COVID-19

EDWARDSVILLE, Kansas — KMBC reports that the Edwardsville Fire Department is mourning the loss of one of their paramedics due to the coronavirus.

Paramedic Jason Taylor, 51, died of COVID-19 complications on New Year’s Day. Taylor joined the department in 2018.

Fire Chief Tim Whitham said Paramedic Taylor was hospitalized after Christmas and died on New Year’s Day.

The Edwardsville Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 64 has started a collection to help the Taylor family. Donations can be made at the firehouse at 698 S. 4th Street, Edwardsville, KS, 66111.
