
One firefighter and one civilian in serious condition

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – KMBC 9 reports that four firefighters and a civilian were injured when their vehicles collided at an intersection on Wednesday.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Northeast 96th Street and North Oak Trafficway.
The fire engine was responding to a structure fire and had entered the intersection against a red light, with its lights and siren working.
The car had entered the intersection and was struck by the fire engine.
The driver of the car had to be extricated from their vehicle.
Four firefighters were on the fire engine and all were transported to a hospital. One firefighter had serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The civilian driver was reported to be in serious but stable condition.
