Injured Kansas City (KS) Firefighter Out of Surgery, Long Recovery Ahead

Update: Surgeons at the University of Kansas Health System successfully operated on a 19-year veteran of the Kansas City fire department injured when he fell through a roof of an industrial building Friday.

The Kansas City Fire Department said the firefighter was injured when he went on the roof to assist in the investigation surrounding an accident at the site earlier in the day when a worker at the TSL facility also fell through the roof.

The earlier victim was transported to the hospital and was listed in stable condition.
