Kansas City Fire Department Wants Legacy of Fallen Firefighters to Include Lessons Learned

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KMBC) – The federal report on what happened the night two Kansas City Firefighters were killed in a building collapse has been released.

Now, the Kansas City Fire Department says it wants the legacy of John Mesh and Larry Leggio to include the lessons learned from that night.

The federal report says the mistakes that night happened in a six-minute time frame – between the time the firefighters were told to establish a collapse zone and get away from the building at 8 p.m., and the actual time of the collapse at 8:06.
