Georgia County Mourns Over Firefighter’s Suicide

Fayette County firefighter died over the weekend

FAYETTE COUNTY, Georgia — Fayette County mourns the loss of one of its own firefighters who took his own life over the weekend.

11Alive and the Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services reported the death of Lieutenant Ed Sherwood.

In a Facebook post the department stated, “Suicide is a tragic reality among our men and women of public safety and military service. Please keep the family in your prayers. Please keep us in your prayers.”
