Bartow County Fire & Emergency Services announced Wednesday that Firefighter Matthew Smith died Tuesday afternoon.
The department said the death was from complications from “an apparent medical incident that he suffered during a training exercise last Thursday.”
“Please keep the Smith family and our department in your prayers during this difficult time,” the department said in Facebook post.
