YORK TOWNSHIP, Pennsylvania — A former York Township fire lieutenant has pleaded guilty to shoving a state trooper at a crash scene in September of last year and now must pay a fine.

The York Dispatch reports that Michael T. Naylor of Glen Rock appeared before District Judge Lindy Lane Sweeney for a scheduled preliminary hearing on Wednesday.

First Assistant District Attorney Time Barker and defense attorney David Hershey informed the judge that Naylor would plead guilty to third-degree misdemeanors of obstructing emergency services and disorderly conduct.

Probation was not given to Naylor because he has a low risk of committing future crimes, according to Baker, and since he was let go from York Township’s Goodwill Fire Company No.1 after the incident.

Naylor must pay approximately $1,500 in fines and court costs.

Fire company president Wendy Tracy said Naylor was a dedicated firefighter but admitted to shoving the trooper and had to be removed from his duties.
