Firefighters Battle four-Alarm Middletown (RI) Hotel Fire; Second in Two Weeks in Area

Firefighters made quick work of a four-alarm at a Middletown hotel Friday afternoon.

The fire, at the Days Inn on West Main Road, is the second hotel fire in the area in the last two weeks. The Wayfinder Hotel burned just last week, and was a total loss.

Middletown Fire Chief James Peplau told WPRI that firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to other parts of the hotel. So only a small block of rooms were damaged, as the region moves into its busy summer season.
