A fire in a ceiling-mounted speaker Friday night forced the evacuation of Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena during Indiana Pacers-Toronto Raptors game. Firefighters had to rappel from the arena ceiling to extinguish the electrical fire before play was resumed.
Toronto fire officials ordered the evacuation to get ahead of any potential danger, though they did not see any immediate threat to public safety.
The Raptors ended up winning by 131-91, though without fans in the stands.
