Easley firefighters battled a fire at a custom chemical manufacturing company Friday afternoon, donning hazmat gear to work the scene.
The fire broke out at about 4 p.m. at Ortec Inc. on Gentry Memorial Highway..
Fire Chief Matthew Littleton told WYFF the fire was contained to a 40-foot square area in the processing plant, and no chemicals were released. Pickens County hazmat team responded as well as the Easley Fire Department.
