Fire Destroys Richmond (VA) School Bus Maintenance Garage

A Wednesday morning fire destroyed six school buses at the Richmond Public Schools bus maintenance garage.

The fire was reported at about 6:30 a.m. and witnesses said it grew incredibly quickly. One person was in the facility at the time of the fire and was able to escape.

Eventually reaching two-alarms, firefighters took a defensive approach to the fire, protecting nearby buildings while they drowned the fire.

The superintendent of schools said the fire destroyed five or six vehicles that were in the repair facility at the time,
