Fire Captain Runs Jacksonville (FL) Gate River Run for 20th Year in Gear to Remember 9/11

Eric Prosswimmer, a Jacksonville (FL) fire captain, has run the 15K Gate River Run for 20 years in his turnout gear to honor 9/11 firefighters.

“People don’t realize how much it took physically for those firefighters to get up 80, 90 flights of stairs in gear carrying equipment to save thousands and thousands of people,” Prosswimmer told News4Jax. “I wanted to honor them.”
