Gainesville firefighter Chandler Patterson died in a boating accident in June, just three weeks after he was married.

His wife Alyssa found a fitting way to honor him, working with the StillFire Brewing Suwanee, Georgia. The brewery has a pub that the couple enjoyed in a renovated fire station, and its owners enthusiastically jumped at the idea to create a beer with Chandler in mind.

21 because Chandler was part of the Engine 21 crew. Dude because that’s what he called his friends. All from brewery in an old firehouse. Put it all together and Dude 21 seemed like a perfect tribute.

The brewery rolled out the beer last week in limited editions. You can read more about Alyssa and Chandler’s story at the Atlanta Journal Constitution. You can find out more about the beer at the StillFire Brewing website.
