SMYRNA, Delaware – WBOC reported that a Delaware volunteer firefighter is facing felony charges after reportedly pulling a firearm on a motorist while directing traffic at an accident.

The Delaware State Police told WBOC that firefighters and troopers responded on Saturday to a disabled vehicle in the water on Woodland Beach Road. Troopers learned while investigating that a family member had received a phone call from another family member who was in the disabled vehicle and was driving to the scene.

The family member arrived and was stopped by Elliott Glover, a firefighter on the scene, and told him what he was doing, but Glover refused to allow him through.

The family member then turned the wheels of his car as if he was going to drive around Glover. Authorities said Glover then drew a handgun, pointed it at the family member and said he was going to shoot him.

Glover, 69, is charged with aggravated menacing and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. Glover posted a $10,000 unsecured bond and was released.

There was no statement from the fire department.
