Dead Hydrants at Kansas City House Fire

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KSHB) – The Kansas City Fire Department discovered three fire hydrants didn’t work at the scene of a house fire Monday morning. Just before 9:30 a.m., firefighters went to a house fire at 16th and Oakley Avenue.

According to KCFD, when crews arrived the person living in the home was outside as the blaze ripped through the two-story house.

Three of the nearby fire hydrants were not working, according to KCFD Deputy Chief Jimmy Walker. One seemed to be vandalized and the other two were not putting out any water.
