Firefighters from the BST&G Fire District rescued a child Sunday who had fallen through the ice into a pond.
The incident occurred Sunday afternoon near Zor Street in Galena. Delaware County EM transported the victim to the hospital.
The child, estimated to be between 10 and 12 years old, is expected to recover. Delaware County EMS Chief noted this was the first ice water rescue of the year.
