Counselors Assist New Hampshire Firefighters with Assistant Chief’s Sudden Death

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire – Fire department officials have called in grief counselors to assist firefighters and staff mourning the sudden death of Manchester Assistant Fire Chief Brendan Burns, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader.

Assistant Chief Burns, 45, was reported missing by his family on Wednesday.

His body was located later that afternoon by authorities after a brief investigation.

Officials said they are waiting for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the official cause of death.

Questions regarding the circumstances leading up to Burn’s death have been directed to the Londonderry Police Department.
