Comstock Firefighters Raise Money for Memorial to Fallen Chief

COMSTOCK, Michigan – Comstock Township firefighters are a third of the way to completing a memorial to honor their fallen fire chief.

Deputy Chief David Wuis told WWMT that the department has completed phase one of three in creating a memorial for Fire Chief Ed Switalski.

Chief Switalski was killed in 2017 while responding to a crash on Interstate 94.

The department has raised over $80,000 for the statue and has approximately $30,000 more to go.
