Summit County firefighter fell from the roof

SUMMIT COUNTY, Colorado — A Summit County firefighter died on Saturday morning while fighting a fire according to fire officials and The Denver Channel.
Summit County firefighter Ken Jones fell from the roof of a five-story condo at 860 Copper Road at approximately 2:00 a.m.
A Facebook post by Summit Fire & EMS says that Jones had climbed to the roof to search for access to the fire.
Jones, 46, was a 20-year veteran of the fire department.
Summit Fire & EMS Chief Jeff Berino said Jones “had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone.”
Jones’ death is the first line of duty death in the history of the department.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms is investigating the incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Jones is survived by a wife and two children.
